To all those who have tirelessly fundraised on our behalf during 2009:
- British 10K London Run - A team of six ran for the CVI and between them raised over £25,000. We would like to say a huge thank you to Lucy, James, Sami, George, Brendan and Wai for their support and everybody who sponsored them.
- The Monol Rally - Richard Cotterell (son of the CVI's Chairman Harry and Arthur Clowes took part in the tough Mongol Rally - a 10,000 mile car journey from Goodwood to Ulaanbaatar the Capital of Mongolia in a car limited to 1.2 litres or less and raised nearly £5000.
- Backgammon Tournament - Tessa Goodhart along with her committee of Sam Satchell, Emma Brown, Sarah Aldous, Lucy Gow, Georgie McGrath, Annabel Jolly and Sheelagh Chetwode organised a very successful Backgammon tournament that raised £11,213.86 in memory of Mark Aldous.raises over £11,000
- Fiona Sangster launched "Glamourbelles" an exciting new couture business and raised £2,600 at the launch party
- Dr Ceri Jones who competed in the Annual Welsh Dragonride which is a gruelling and competitive timed cycle race which climbs the hills of Wales over a distance of 190km and 130km. Dr Jones raised over £1,000 for the CVI and we are very grateful for his time and support.
- Sue Ellis and her committee organised a very successful auction of promises that raised £2,650.
- Ian Dixon who tirelessly supports the CVI’s work through ebay sales and other enterprising schemes
- Angus Burnett and his Boat Party have raised over £1,192
- Melton Mowbray Rugby Club - held its 10th Tom Neal Memorial Trophy - so far £2,700 has been raised
- Anita Nielson has raised £600 from running in the Edinburgh marathon through her just giving site
- Eddie Weston competed in the London flora Marathon and has raised over £4,000
- Jean Sargent who very generously asked for money to be donated in lieu of presents for her recent birthday which raised £850
- Georgina Andrews who arranged for a collection to be made at two theatre performances which raised £600
- Pat Disley who raised an incredible £2,300 at her recent Christmas sale.
- Beautifully handcrafted greeting cards made by Sue Hart continue to be sold at the “Lucky Duck Tea Rooms” in Shere and have so far raised £1,800

- We are delighted that Peter Matthews, our Finance Consultant has chosen the CVI as his charity for his Golf captaincy year at The Lambourne Club.
- Many congratulations to Rebecca and Andrew Spiers who were married on 12th July 2008 and very generously asked their friends and family to make a donation to the CVI in lieu of wedding gifts. They raised over £3,000
- Angus Burnett has launched a just giving site called the Boat Party and has raised over £1,200 to date
- Nick Gaselee and his committee raised an incredible £15,000 in memory of Nick’s wife Judy by organising a musical evening in Lambourn in June this year.
- Jacqueline Welborne ran the London marathon this year and raised over £2,000
- Marc Juffkins ran in a number of marathons in the Oxford area this summer and raised over £500
- Charlie McGrath and his team raised well over £5,000 competing in the Bragborough three peaks challenge
- Peter Fine completed the very gruelling Le Trans Aq Challenge this summer and raised over £4,000
- Neil Ramsden who completed the Tough Guy Extreme event and has raised £1,000 in memory of his grandmother Constance Clarke
- Royal Holloway University of London chose the CVI as their chosen charity for their RAG week this year raising over £2,000
- Greg Allen and his band Egokiller who released a Christmas single in aid of the CVI called the Hum and the Bug. More information is available from www.myspace.com/egokillerband
- Jayne Phillips and Sheelagh Hill who raised £462.50 at a Bingo evening in their local village hall.
- Pat Disley who organised another festive Christmas fair and raised £1,681.
- Mr P Patel who raised £509 by running the Royal Parks Half Marathon
- Pat Angel who organised a successful quiz night which raised £508.
- Daniel Dean who raised £245 taking part in the Great North Run
- Anna Creagh Chapman and Megan Lloyd who raised £540 at a local Christmas fair that they organised in Surrey.
- Melton Mowbray Rugby Club raised £300 in memory of Tom Neal at their annual Boxing Day Match.
- Dr Carswell donates the money she raises from selling her chickens’ eggs.
- Lisa Glynn and the Ounsdale High School Drama show who raised £178.38 from this event
- Nempnett Cancer Relief Quiz raised £160
- Margeret Emberton for donation her fee from her talk to the Pampered Chef

Sue Griffiths raised over £2,300 during her year as Ladies Captain at Roehampton Golf Club
- Ron Darley raised £1,650 during his year as Captain of the Senior Section of Weybrook Park Golf Club in memory of Jeff Allen
- Joan Lamprey for her fundraising in Devon and for organising a successful Poole Marathon
- Alexa Chambers held a Christmas Fair and raised over £1000
- Ian Dixon who tirelessly supports the CVI’s work through ebay sales and other enterprising schemes
- Mrs Pat Angel raised over £ 400 in a sponsored swim
- Melton Mowbray Rugby Club raised £370 at their annual Tom Neal Rugby Trophy
- June Hunter ran the Kirkcudbright half marathon in memory of her sister in law Christine Thompson and raised £420
- Peter Morton competed in the Windsor Triathlon and raised over £1,200
To all those who have tirelessly fundraised on our behalf during 2006:
- To everyone that supported George's Walk - which raised over £55,000. George Coterell and George Robb both aged 12 walked from Hereford to London (150 miles) in just a week. Thank you also to the hotels that kindly sponosred overnight accommodation including Corse Lawn House Hotel, Cowley Manor, The Lygon Arms, Four Pillars Hotel and Stoke Park Club. Our particular thanks go to the Four Seasons Hotel, Hyde Park for sponsoring a celebratory afternoon tea reception at the end.
- Everyone who sponsored Jack Cumming's Head Shave. Jack aged 11 undertook a sponsored head shave, raising an incredible £6,228. He commented: “I decided to shave my head because my Mum's cancer had come back and I wanted to help her get better. I decided to raise money for the CVI so that I could help other people too. I thought that if Mum was going to go bald she wouldn't be the only one in our family. When my head was being shaved I felt very nervous in case I didn't like it. It was odd to start with but the more I got used to it the more I liked it. Playing sport was a lot colder but at least I had less chance of getting nits. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Windelsham House School who were so supportive and who helped me organise the event, also, all the sponsors who were so incredibly generous.”

- Lady Bowman-Shaw who organised a Nature Day which rasied £3,500.
- Pat Disley recently raised a further £1550 at her annual Christmas sale.
- Melton Mowbray Rugby Club raised £370 at their annual Tom Neal Memorial Rugby Trophy event bringing the overall total to £1685.
- Colin Brown has completed his two year sponsored slim which has raised over £1,500.
- Lizzie Tovey raised £465 form the Burlesque Boudoir Part Deux Event.
- The Allens raised £600 at a disco in memory of their son Jeff
- Hilary Cairns completed the Boston Rowing Marathon and raised over £1,500
- Richard Ferriday took part in the L'Etape du Tour and raised £750
- Kate Sargent completed the Great Scottish Run raising £350
- The Bush Family - Lisa, Maggie and David undertook a sponsored ride on horseback and mountain bike along the Ridgeway and raised £450.
- Belinda Carver took part in a charity run raising over £3000
- Everyone who took part in the CVI Worldcup Sweepstake which has raised nearly £1000
- Anthony and Michelle Spiers who got married in August and asked for donations in lieu of wedding presents, raising over £1000.
- The cycling madness team (Iona Laing, Mary Hurst, Emily Dickinson and Emily Farquar) who have cycled through the Alps from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean and raised £4000.
- Tim Hamilton Millar and friends took part in the Cannonball run. They had to drive from London to Torquay and back again in a car worth no more than £200. They went dressed as the village people! They raised £556.
- Andrew Wiggins raised £1330 from his party
- Annie Gray raised £50 from her stall at her village fete
- Johnny and Tessa Goodhart for organising a Backgammon Tournament in memory of Mark Aldous which raised £ 6,668.59.
- Donna Kinghorn for organising annual karoke competition in memory of her husband generously supported and sponsored by Mrs G Green, David Edwards Jewellers, Trade & General Workers Union, Pinnacle Landscaping and General Building, Cotswold Paintballing, Dan Gabb Personal Training Limited, Mrs Meg Turley, Richard Sounds Plc, Berry Hill Recording Studio, Star 107.5 fm, The Gloucestershire Echo, The Waterside Inn, The Mayor of Cheltenham, The Duke of York Pub, Cotswold Dental Laboratory, Chelsea Building Society. 2005's competition rasied an impressive £2003.10.

- Andrew Miller raised an incredible £7,360 from his participation in the Great North Run 2005.
- Jo Neate took part in the Bupa Great South Run
- Nigel Moore for running the London Marathon and raising £480
- Dr Sarah King raised £500 through her sponsored run
- Linda Plant and her five year old son who have raised £550 through their sponsored 10K, 5K and 2K runs.
- Valerie Coignard for completing the Stockholm Marathon in four hours and seven minutes, beating her target by twenty three minutes and raising of £1070.41.
- Catherine Enderby for taking part in the London Triathalon and raising £1060.
- Mrs Grimsey's son for raising £533 through his sponsored climb.

- Sir John and Lady Cotterell for selling their Recipes for Life Cook Book written in memory of Carolyn Cotterell with a foreward by the Duchess of York. To buy a book please click here.
- Everyone who supported the Carolyn Cotterell Memorial Bike Ride which was launched by the Duchess of York. After Gift Aid an incredible £332,000 was raised.
