There are currently no immunotherapy/vaccine trials recruiting at St George's University of London. Several trials exist which the CVI supports and for which further information is available below.
If you are interested in participating in one of our future trials please return to this website which will be updated when further details become available. Please read Frequently Asked Questions first. We regret that we are unable to take enquiries for patient information and clinical trials by telephone.
Supported trials
The CVI previously supported phase I trials of a whole cell vaccine for prostate cancer. The success of these initial trials has led to a phase IIb clinical trial on hormone resistant advanced prostate cancer which is currently recruiting. For further information go to www.onyvax.com and follow links to clinical trials.
For paediatric/adolescent patients presenting with relapsed or chemoresistant osteosarcoma outside the central nervous system where there is no proven effective curative treatment and who have a life expectancy of greater than 3 months. Patients will be treated with a dendritic cell vaccine (dendritic cells loaded with autologous tumour lysate) plus low dose IL-2. This trial is already recruiting at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
A number of other clinical trials have been proposed for the future, all of which are subject to scrutiny through the Cancer Vaccine Institute's Scientific Advisory Board. Proposed clinical trials include 2 trials using immunomodulatory drugs for melanoma and possibly a vaccine trial for Brain tumours, with other tumour types unders discussion. Please revisit this site for future updates.
